Actor: Razi Shawahdeh

Born and raised in Nazareth, Palestine/Israel, Razi moved to Toronto in 2007, and attended George Brown’s Acting Program. He plays the lead in the feature film, “A Man without a Cell Phone” to be released at the end of summer 2010, and is excited to be a part of Homegrown.

Catherine Frid’s plays include Dead Cat Bounce (Toronto Fringe), Buff (New Ideas Festival, Arts and Letters Club), Over the Edge (Arts and Letters Club), The Tango Player (Inspirato 10-Minute Festival). Director: Beatriz Pizano

BEATRIZ PIZANO (director, dramaturge) is the founder and artistic director of Aluna Theatre,a leading Colombian/Canadian theatre company in Canada that encourages hybrids of creation.  In 2009 she received the John Hirsch Prize for direction from the Canada Council for the Arts.  Beatriz has written and directed a trilogy about women and war that includes La Comunión, For Sale and Madre which have received a total of 13 Dora nominations and won 4 of these awards. Directing credits also include:  Three Dollars and Six Dimes, Afamefuna, I Think of You Erendira, Bear with Me, The Dinner, Capturing Freedom; The Fire Story, and Meeting Playce. She has been a recipient of:  The Ken McDougall Award, the Chalmers Fellowship, the Metcalf and the Chalmers Professional Development, and the Urjo Kareda.  Further she has also been an associate director at Nightwood Theatre and Theatre Revolve.

Trevor Schwellnus is a Toronto-based Scenographer, Designer-in-Residence at the Theatre Centre, and Artistic Producer of Aluna Theatre. He has recently collaborated with: Dancemakers (Double Bill #2), Ame Henderson's public recordings (relay, /dance/songs/, and the upcoming 300 tapes), Aluna Theatre (La Comunión), Crow's Theatre (Out the Window), Buddies in Bad Times (Silicone Diaries). He has 2 Dora Awards for his work with Aluna, among 9 career award nominations. In November 2010 he takes his collaborative dance-theatre work-in-progress, Nohayquiensepa (NoOneKnows), to Bogotá, Colombia.

Sound Design: Thomas Ryder Payne

Thomas Ryder Payne is a Toronto-based composer, producer and sound designer. Starting as a songwriter with a 4-track recorder, Thomas has followed a varied musical career including studying with composer James Tenney, recording and touring for six years with the Juno nominated band Joydrop and producing numerous records.
